A charity established to help young children fight the long-term effects of treatment for brain tumours are set to benefit from a 24-hour karting fundraising challenge being undertaken by Suffolk digital marketing agency, Itineris.

The Copdock-based agency, which specialises in web and email marketing, is aiming to raise over £2,000 for Camille’s Appeal – the children’s brain tumour charity specifically focused on the support and welfare of children under the age of five.

Under current treatments, children with brain tumours are likely to undergo chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. In many cases, these treatments will leave the child with disabilities, making an independent life very difficult. Camille’s Appeal aims to help with the rehabilitation of such children.

Led by head of sales and marketing, Matt Horsup, a team of ten members from Itineris will drive a go-kart continuously for 24-hours on 28 January at Anglia Indoor Kart Racing in Ipswich alongside a number of other teams in the region.

He said: “This cause is extremely close to my heart as I personally know the parents who originally founded their charity, and their daughter Camille who has a brain tumour. The money we will raise will go directly to help with the rehabilitation of young children who are faced with similar challenges. The race itself will be pretty gruelling as we will need to keep driving continuously in 30 minute shifts. The whole team are now in training and we hope to do our best for the charity. We have already raised £1,600 and the funds are still rising.”

Established in 2000, Itineris has created its own software platforms including i.send for email marketing, i.content for website content management and i.meet for online event systems as well as interactive web tools to help businesses market their companies in the digital space.
